The Mall

This is a common road name in the hill stations of India for the main shopping road in the town, a bit like The High Street at home.  This road had restricted access for cars, though quite a few still seemed to come along it, but it did make it easier to walk along than would probably have been the case otherwise.  To compensate for the lack of cars along the stretch there were rickshaws and horses if you needed to take a rest from walking.

This is probably a hot drink based on milk or curds, that would be served in the terracotta pots.

One of the many hotels along the road, the clouds were starting to descend on the town.

A less than secure bit of woodwork that hung right over the road, pedestrians beware!
