Jain Temple

The last cave that we saw was one of the Jain temples.  The Jain caves are generally smaller and simpler than the Hindu caves and were the last parts of Ellora to be excavated.

A representation of one of the Jain tirthankaras. These are enlightened beings who help others cross the 'river of transmigration' (the journey of the soul from one life to the next).  There are 24 tirthankaras.
