Aurangabad

From Ellora we took the coaches and went to the city of Aurangabad.  It is the largest city in Northern Maharastra with a population just under 1 million.  The city was first founded in 1610 by local Mughal rulers.  In 1653 Emperor Aurangazeb, moved his capital here and it was renamed after him.  It was from here that he conquered the Deccan States.

While in the city we had lunch and then visited the Bib Ka Maqbara, before seeing some silk weaving for which the city is also famous.

En route to these places we took some photos from the coach.

This water park was a few miles from the city and seemed rather isolated.
